6 Day | Guided Bike Adventure - Rails-to-Trails Guided Tour:

Bike adventure of a lifetime, this trip won National Geographic's 25 Best New Trips in 2010. It links the region's superb rails-to-trails system and adds some water play with it! We begin on our bikes in Spokane, Washington and ride along the Centennial Trail overlooking the beautiful Spokane River until reaching the famous resort town, Coeur d'Alene, ID. On day two we explore Lake Coeur d'Alene by kayak in the morning and then take our bikes on one of the bucket-lists of the Rails-to-Trails system, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes.

As this bike adventure takes you from one amazing trail to the next, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the thrills of whitewater rafting as you reach the Alberton Gorge in Montana on the Clark Fork River (the region's most popular rafting trip). At this point of the bike adventure, we have reached the climax of the trip as we take our bikes to the famous Route of the Hiawatha. Nothing can prepare a bike enthusiast for the dramatic landscape, tunnels and trestles that await!

FAQ

Bike Adventure - Rails-to-Trails FAQs

Q. Do I need to be an avid cyclist to enjoy this trip?
A. No. This bike adventure is great for all levels.  There are options daily for people who desire a more difficult ride or an easier pace.  Our guides are willing and ready to accomodate. Not at all! Our itinerary is planned to address a wide range of biking abilities.

Q. What about kids, is it an appropriate adventure for children?

A.Your kids will love this trip and you will not hate them being on it. We have a transport van for tired children (or for parents tired of their kids). Remember, there is a variety of activities on this bike adventure. Your kids will have a chance not only to be on a bike but to enjoy kayaking, swimming and rafting.

Q. I don't know about the kayaking and rafting portion, is it challenging, should I be concerned?
A. If you've never held a paddle in your life, you are going to love kayaking and rafting.  The kayaking portion can be as easy or challenging as you'd like it.  We give an instructional lesson and before you know it, you might want to trade your bike in for a new sport! The rafting portion is on the Clark Fork River which is a fun, splashy river with Class II-III rapids. No previous rafting experience is needed but you'll want to come back for more once you are done!
