Starting in Spokane, Washington, known as the heart of the Inland Northwest, this 4-day self-guided tour offers the best biking in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana. This one-of-a-kind itinerary offers picturesque mountain landscapes. You ride the Centennial Trail alongside the Spokane River and beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene, the Trail of The Coeur d’Alenes through the historic Silver Valley of North Idaho, and on the last day, you pedal the crown jewel of rails-to-trails – the historical Hiawatha Trail, cruising through seven tunnels and over ten trestles that offer beautiful panoramic views of the Bitterroot Mountains on the Idaho/Montana border. At the end of the day, we provide a shuttle back to Spokane for your travels home.

In just four days, you pedal the Centennial Trail, Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, and the Hiawatha Trail Trip Price Includes: Pick-up and drop-off at arrival point as needed Bike rental – we offer bike rentals at an additional charge of $30/day. Our fleet is made up of Marin Hybrid bikes with front suspension. Each bike comes with a rear tire rack and panniers, headlight mount on the handlebars (for Hiawatha Trail tunnels), water bottle and water bottle cage, flat tire tool kit, and adjustable helmet.** 2 nights lodging while on the trail. We have preferred rates with several hotels, or we can provide you with suggestions for lodging accommodations for the nights prior-to and after your trip. However, some of the lodging accommodations will provide a breakfast for you, as noted in the itinerary. Lodging for the nights prior-to and after your trip. We ask that you pack the panniers we provide on our bikes to take what you need for the one night in Harrison. 4 Day - Self-Guided Bike Tour FAQs   Q: Do we have to bring our own bikes? A: You are more than welcome to bring your own bike for this trip. For your convenience, we are also able to provide bike rentals for the trip. Our rental bikes come with a rear wheel rack and panniers, bike headlight, water bottles, spare tubes, tire pump, and multi-tool. Keep in mind that road bikes will not work on the Hiawatha Trail, but if you want to bring a road bike we can rent you a mountain bike for the last day of the trip. Q: How far do we ride each day? A: Some days are longer than others. A short day would be approximately 16 miles. On longer days, the ride could be as many as 49 miles. Q: What does the price include? A: Our price includes a one of a kind itinerary. We provide all transportation between cycling points as needed. We arrange all of your lodging while you are on the trails, starting with your first night in Coeur d'Alene, ID through your last night in either Kellogg or Wallace, ID. In addition, we arrange for your luggage to be transported each day to your ending point for the day. 4 Day - Self-Guided Bike Tour Overview Itinerary Day 0) Travel from your home to Spokane, WA. . Silver Bike Tours has preferred rates with several hotels and is happy to help arrange your lodging accommodations in Spokane. Day 1) Spokane, WA to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on the Centennial Trail, 37 miles. Pedal the Centennial trail from downtown Spokane, WA, across the Washington/Idaho state line, and into the beautiful town of Coeur d'Alene. Day 2) Transfer to Plummer, Idaho and ride to Harrison, 16 miles. Today, cruise from Plummer to Harrison, ID on the renowned Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. The ride takes you around the southern end of Lake Coeur d'Alene to the charming town of Harrison, ID. Day 3) Harrison to Kellogg 36 miles. Today is another great day on the Trail of The Coeur d'Alenes. Your ride takes through wetlands and along the Coeur d'Alene River, before entering the Silver Valley, rich in mining history. (Note: If you'd rather ride more, go all the way to Wallace for a total of 49 miles.) Day 4) Kellogg-Route of the Hiawatha-Spokane. Ride 15 miles on the Hiawatha Trail, the most dramatic rails-to-trails trail yet created in the U.S. This is a crushed-gravel trail. You pass through seven tunnels, the longest of which is almost two miles long, and over a number of high trestles with spectacular mountain views. You can choose to ride just one way, or do a round-trip (30 miles). We transfer you from the trail back to Mullen and the eastern end of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes for an optional 18 mile ride downhill to the town of Wallace.. If you choose to do this optional 18 miles then you have completed the entire Trail of The Coeur d'Alenes. ***For the hard core riders, today you have the option to ride from Wallace, ID to the trailhead of the Hiawathat Trail. Rather than take our van shuttle to the trailhead, enjoy and extra 25 mile ride along the NorPac Trail. The ride is on grave and dirt path and would not be suitable for road bikes. At the end of the day, Silver Bike Tours provides transportation back to Spokane, WA prior to your departure back home.
