We provide turnkey services and outstanding support for your bicycle tour including luggage transfers, transportation between trailheads as needed and all accommodation arrangements. We also provide you with detailed information about the area including must-see sites, the best restaurants and more. If a self-guided bike tour is not for you, we also offer fully guided bike tours of the region. This region is our home and we act as your local insider friend to show you the best bike tour experience possible in eastern Washington, North Idaho and western Montana. We love our home and are eager to share with you. Our passion for cycling, for the people and culture of our region and, our love for protecting and preserving this special area, is truly contagious!

What Makes "Silver Bike Tours" So Special?

Silver Bike Tours offers many uniquely designed tours featuring the region's incredible trail systems, notably the Washington/Idaho Centennial Trail, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Trail of the Hiawatha. After years of experience, we've cultivated the very best approaches to cycling in the area. We are also able to customize tours for various special interests such as: bird watching, winery visits, rails-to-trails, Native American culture, sustainability, history, camping, and more.

Our goal is to make your trip easy for you. Here's a list of what's included on your Silver Bike Tour:

Bicycle Outfitting and Rentals

Silver Bike Tours provides top quality Marin bikes, helmets, and gear. Additionally, we offer assembly, service, and boxing for return if you choose to bring your own bicycle for an additional fee. We also offer accessories such as children's single wheel bikes (tag-alongs) that attach to an adult's bike as well as trailers for smaller children. Helmets are mandatory and we provide them or you're welcome to bring your own. Prior to your trip, we will help fit your bikes, so that you will be comfortable during the duration of your trip.

Shuttle Service

Your Silver Bike Tour host will meet and greet you at your initial hotel the morning of your trip. Should you be arriving by plane or train the hotels we recommend offer a transfer service at either no charge or a reasonable fee. We provide transfers during your tour when necessary to get from one cycling area to another. For example, we transfer you and your bike from Coeur d'Alene to the trailhead of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Also, we provide a transfer from the town Wallace to the Hiawatha Trail. Finally, we include the transfer from the end of your ride back to Spokane.

Luggage Transfers

All tours have luggage transfer as a core service, so feel free to pack as much, or as little, as you like! We make sure your luggage is ready when you arrive at your hotel, so you can enjoy an evening of fine dining or relaxing on the beach by the lake. Luggage must be ready for pick-up by 9AM and will be delivered by 3PM.

Trailside Service for Self-Guided Tour

A key value is the support we offer you during your trip. If you have a problem, we're just a phone call away. With your rental, we provide you with new tubes, pumps and flat tire changing tools so you can take care of any flats on your own. If it's an issue more serious than a flat, we have mechanical assistance on call.

Lodging – Your Choice of "Casual" or "Premiere"

Silver Bike Tours offers you a choice in the quality of accommodations when available and you'll note that we offer a "Casual" and "Premiere" accommodation choice on our tours. On our "casual tours" you stay in moderately priced hotels or small inns while on our "premiere" itinerary you stay in the best available accommodation. The premiere version takes advantage of high-quality accommodations in Spokane, Coeur d'Alene and, if you choose to stay in Kellogg instead of Wallace, then also in the town of Kellogg. In the town of Wallace all tours use the same accommodation. We have great relationships with our hotel and Bed & Breakfast partners and we work together to make sure your stays are satisfying and refreshing.

Meals and Dining

Breakfast is provided at most hotel destinations. A dining guide is provided for other meals, where we highlight local and regionally owned restaurants to help give you the complete flavor of our region.

Detailed Trip Notes

We provide our self-guided tour participants with detailed maps, tips, and literature providing insight into the area, its natural wonders, history, and cultural heritage. We have 33 years of experience guiding adventures in the region, so you can be sure you will have a wealth of information.

Guided Tours & Guides

Silver Bike Tours also offers fully guided bike tours of North Idaho and the surrounding region. On these trips, our informative and helpful guides take you to places of unparalled scenery along paved and maintained former rail bed trails offering unencumbered riding with no motorized vehicles. On our guided bike tours we also provide all van transfers, equipment and meals. We take all of the guess work out of your vacation, so all you have to do is fully enjoy your adventure.
