About Silver Bike Tours

The Leader in Self-Guided Bicycle Tours in the Inland Northwest!

Silver Bike Tours is in its sixth year of facilitating the region's premier bike touring. We offer guided tours as well as self-guided bike tours. We create memorable, safe, and well-planned itineraries. SBT provides a cycling experience in a pristine natural environment that is safe and hassle free as possible. Our chosen routes are primarily Rails to Trails that have little or no grade and are separate from motorized traffic.

Originally founded by Loren Dudley in 2005, the company quickly became known for excellent service and creative bike route itineraries focused solely on self-guided tours. Loren was ready to retire in 2010 so handed the reins over to Peter Grubb, founder of ROW Adventures. ROW brings over three decades of experience in the adventure travel arena. We added guided bicycle tours to the Silver Bike Tour repertoire including our signature "Bitterroot Bonanza," a multi-sport tour with bike riding, lake kayaking and a day of rafting.

We believe in responsible and sustainable travel ethics and are proud of the positive contributions we make through our business model. Each year we welcome several thousand people to our local area making a real and positive economic impact to dozens of businesses. In this process we also hope to create advocates for our local trail systems and be tourism and bicycle ambassadors of the Inland Northwest.

We are proud of our guides and support staff who work hard to provide you with a well-orchestrated and well-executed adventure vacation. We love to share our neighborhood and help you gain a deeper appreciation for the area's natural and cultural history. The trails in our area have a story around every bend. This is the land of the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene Indians. You will learn about their first contact with the French and British fur-traders in the early 1800's, followed by the missionaries some 30-40 years later. These were followed by further western expansion from white people and the U.S. military. Early settlers were not far behind, and then came the miners, timber companies and the further shaping of the area as we know it today.

Few areas in the world can boast such an excellent bike trail system as we have here at the edge of the Washington prairies and start of the Rocky Mountains. For now we offer you trips on the Centennial Trail, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Hiawatha Trail. As time passes and more trails are developed we will have new, creative opportunities for you.

We welcome you to not only join us for a biking tour, but other local adventures as well including our Lake Coeur d'Alene kayaking trips, Spokane River rafting trips, Clark Fork Whitewater rafting, or even a stay at our River Dance Lodge that has some excellent mountain bike opportunities.

With our excellent staff headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho we can customize any trip you might like. We are specialists in planning family or small group charters. We welcome you to give us a call, or send an email and start planning your Silver Bike Tours adventure today!
